In between a co-headlining tour with 12th Planet, and their upcoming opening slots on Flux Pavilion’s fall tour, one of EDM’s most in demand duo’s LOUDPVCK have found some time to hit the studio and are about to drop their widely anticipated “Botany” EP on July 31, debuting their first major release of original material. Today they reveal their first single, a collaboration with none other than ATL’s latest hip hop export – Curtis Williams of Two-9 fame.
This alliance comes as no surprise  – LOUDPVCK’S  Kenny Beats and Ryan Marks have a lot in common with Williams – they love their weed and they’re willing to take risks in the studio. The result is a triumphant smoked-out summer crossover slice of sample-laden prowess called “LIT”.

“We’ve been a fan of the Two-9 guys and their related acts for a long time. One of the first  LOUDPVCK songs was our “Molly” remix for Two-9’s good friend Reese. After that we reconnected at SXSW and we sent some rap stuff back and forth with Curtis, and finally linked with him in LA. We finished “LIT” in one session. The entire song ended up being pieces of the first 16 bars he recorded that day! Super talented artist and a good homie. “

The “Botany” EP opens LOUDPVCK’s adventurous ride with Switch Hitta,” a scandalous anthem fueled by a hybrid of militant drum beats that wind the listener up before taking the beat to the street. When asked how they describe their sound Kenny claims “Exactly like our name, LOUUUUDD!! Our music sounds like being blacked-out feels. We set out to make songs that people can lose their shit too! No matter what genre we make, our point is to get everyone partying as hard as they possibly can! PERIOD!”  Which leads us to the next track, the fiesta flavored single Buenafeaturing guest drummer Blink-182’s Travis Barker, whose drum licks turns LOUDPVCKS hip-hop rager into a spliced up pop-punk futuristic Mexican mariachi.
If that’s not enough to keep your ears sizzling, the EP also features a bouncy spin on “LIT” from  AC Slater that will flip dancefloors into full blown riots.  Kenny comments on how this track may very well take LOUDPVCK fans by surprise, “Some of the cooler more underground sub genres of house are starting to emerge into the mainstream EDM zeitgeist. Three years ago No one was paying that much attention to UK bassline or minimal techno, but because of guys like AC Slater/Jauz and Gesaffelstein, respectively, these sub genres saw huge attention being brought back onto them. That trend caught our attention and has us thinking about a lot of different kinds of house that weren’t really a possibility for our demographic in the past.”
While there’s no doubt that LOUDPVCK like to have fun, their music is no joke. “Botany” is years in the making.  It’s the duo’s first real opportunity to showcase all the different sounds and tempos they’ve been performing in their live sets but they just had never released a collection of original scores before this.  “We pointed to really specific things about songs we liked and aimed to feature those ideas in a new and fresh arena. I think approaching the project this way allowed us to create sounds we wouldn’t have if we were just trying to make music indicative of our own style.”
As Ryan further explains “‘We’re both are classically trained musicians. A lot of DJs go “oh yeah I started playing REAL MUSIC on REAL INSTRUMENTS’ then they sit down and play like three power chords on a guitar and I totally get it. They don’t really understand music. I spent the first half of my life only wanting to play the piano. This put me at a huge advantage when I realized the MIDI keyboard was THE tool of musical expression within DAWs. Same for Kenny playing the guitar, it allows us to view any composition in the context of larger music theory which is absolutely invaluable. I think this helps to solve musical problems and be as efficient as possible when producing music.”
Perhaps that lead to their creation of the SOUNDPVCKS series:
“We just really wanted to give easy production tools back to our fans, a lot of whom are bedroom producers themselves. We get so many tweets and e-mails about how and where we get our sounds, we figured why not just put them up for sale for anyone who wanted to buy them. A lot of producers are too protective of their sounds in my opinion, thats fine for some, but with SOUNDPVCKS we want to be the opposite.”

LOUDPVCK are one of the most sought after EDM duos of the moment, collaborating with Dada Life, 12th Planet, and Carnage. Just last week they teamed up with Zeds Dead to release their collaboration “Flies,” for Mad Decent.  This  anthemic bass-heavy single, which mixes Baltimore club sounds with hip hop breaks and punchy house beats has only prepared us for what’s about to hit with ‘Botany’.
Hard to believe, but only three years ago, LOUDPVCK attended EDC Vegas as fans, so it’s quite an achievement for them to have played one of the biggest stages this year.  2015 also saw the lifted dup storm the Do LaB tent at Coachella for a massive closing set.  Everyone’s favorite west coast duo LOUDPVCK are ready to conquer America. The question remains, is America ready?  We think so.
